Megan David, Small Business Saturday, Croton, NY-Interview

ML Dreams: Megan David, Principal, WR Design + Consulting, Croton, NY

We bumped into this Retail Expert on her way to do what she does best...shop! Megan took a few minutes to share her thoughts.

Made LoKal: What is your role in life?
Megan: I strive for beauty, meaning and connection in everything I do, people I meet and places I travel to.  I think I was meant to find beauty in the ordinary.
Made LoKal: What is your favorite shop in NYC?
Megan: I love this store Warm in Nolita.  It's an old time lifestyle store with beautifully curated items like soaps, books, textiles and thoughtful offerings for men and babies too! I often gravitate to Housing Works and Ina for special used clothing finds, Bigelow Pharmacy for yummy skincare and am known to roam around Muji for stationary and because they play the sweetest music.  I find flea markets are great places for vintage finds.

Made LoKal: What is your dream for the future of retail?
Megan: My dream for retail is  to find a nice balance between the brick and mortar experience and an online presence.  For the instore experience to be one of warmth, community and advocacy.  And for the online version to complement that experience with ease of use, and to reinforce the brand.

Made Lokal: Tomorrow is Small Business Saturday.
Shop Megan's local favorites:
  • Warm @181 Mott St and afterward, have a tea and scone at Harney & Sons @433 Broome St.
  • Housing Works @143 w 17th st, and afterward have a latte at Coffeed @590 Sixth Ave.
  • C.O. Bigelow @414 Sixth Ave and afterward have a coffee at Coffee Foundry @186 W4th St.
